چکیده
The objective of the experiment was to develop cropping sequence modules for round year green fodder production feeding 50 dairy cattle under irrigated conditions in North-West Himalayan region. Various were initiated at Research Farm Instructional Livestock Centre, R.S. Pura, FVSc. & A.H., SKUAST-Jammu during 2016 an area 2.5 ha. experimental data collected after fully establishing unit 2017-18 and 2018-19. Five sequences viz. Module 1 – Maize+Cowpea-Berseem+Mustard; 2- Swankhi, Cowpea, Bajra-Berseem+Oats; 3 Sorghum-oats; 4 perennial module (two grasses two trees) 5 azolla (supplemental module) developed ensuring supply quality feed animals. efficiency adjudged by taking system productivity economic parameters milk yield, composition lactation study. Statistical analysis done with one-way two-way ANOVA. Among annual crop modules, showed highest productivity, maximum net returns B:C ratio while among grasses, hybrid napier produced significantly along ratio. trees, Bauhinia variegate had productivity. Further, studies revealed that total yield 12 animals (10 cows 2 buffaloes) components cows), fat protein lactose SNF etc. achieved when fed mixed maize+cowpea whereas, energy found from those sampled which berseem+oats. Thus, subtropical Jammu, Maize+Cowpea-Berseem+Mustard considered more remunerative based on followed Sorghum-oat module.
